ABOUT ME

A serene beach scene at sunset, with soft pink and purple clouds stretching across the sky, with gentle waves, a volleyball net, and distant mountains.

Hi, I'm Joanna Bahl, LCSW.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in the South Bay, California (Los Angeles), deeply passionate about guiding teens and young adults through major life transitions. My journey into mental health began as a student-athlete, where I witnessed the profound impact of the mind on performance and resilience. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Psychology, a minor in Gender Studies, and ultimately, a Master's in Social Work from San Diego State University.

My approach is warm, compassionate, practical, and empowering, integrating modalities like Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. I specialize in supporting teens and young adults (and their families) facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, academic stress, college decisions, relationship issues, and self-esteem challenges. My aim is to help you find clarity, develop healthier coping skills, improve communication, foster resilience, and increase self-compassion.

Beyond my private practice, I serve as a Clinical Supervisor for therapists in the Torrance Unified School District (TUSD). In my free time, I find joy in staying active and spending time outdoors, whether it's running, playing beach volleyball, or exploring nature with my family and energetic toddler.
